Alex Goss/Band Director


         A gifted musician 44 yrs of age, born and raised in Detroit Michigan with 30 plus yrs experience in music.

Alex Goss is a writer, arranger, producer and band director that plays several instruments: piano, keyboard synth, hammond organ, drums, bass guitar, and sings as well.

Alex plays multiple genre's like gospel, r&b, hip hop, and smooth jazz, and have been blessed to have worked with, recorded and tour the world with artist and musicians like Thomas Whitfield and The Whitfield Company, Derrick Milan, Micheal Fletcher, Joe Smith, The Craig Brothers, Bebe Winans, Rickey Dilliard, Myron Butler, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, William Murphy III, Evelyn Agee Turentine and War on Sin, Larry Callahan and S.O.G., J.J. Hairston, Kurt Carr, Kim Burrell, Dottie Peoples, Lanar 'Kern' Brantley, Salt n Pepa, Christopher Williams, Keith Washington, Cherelle, Alexander O'Neal, Ann Nesby, Howard Hewitt,  Surface, L. Renee, Mama Sol, Dwele, Silk, Shelby Brown, Ron Otis, Noel Gourdin, Althea Rene, Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band, and Platinum artist KEM.

Alex Goss is currently a musician and band director at Triumph Church in Detroit, and the owner of Detroit Soul Rhythm Live Band Entertainment, also working on his first album self titled "Alexander Goss". 

Artema Byrd/Vocalist


Artema Byrd was born singing. She was raised in a musical family with her mother,  a pianist and choir director in church and her father, who was one of the original members of the 70's group The Undisputed Truth.  Artema was exposed to many different genres of music as a youngster and there was doubt from an early age what Artema was meant to sing on the stage. Artema began vocal training as a child with the Civic Youth Chorus of Detroit which was directed through Wayne State University school of music.  With this group she was allotted opportunities to sing all over the state of Michigan and received college level vocal training. During her teenage years, Artema cut her teeth in the music industry as a vocalist and songwriter with a female quintet who moved to Atlanta, Ga. where they obtained a record deal with SoSo Def records. After pursuing for months, the deal went nowhere, so Artema returned to Detroit where she continued to write music and sing everywhere she was requested from birthday parties and wedding receptions to funerals. 

Artema has worked as worship leader in her church where she wrote original music and recorded a live worship albums in 2007 and 2009. 

Artema works in the theatre sector as a songwriter and background vocalist. She wrote the original music for the hit stage play, "Entangled" and also worked with playwrights and producers Melissa Talbot and TJ Hemphill on original music for their stage play productions.

Artema has sang as the lead vocalist for The Flexx Band in Detroit and the Al McKenzie Trio, she has also sang background for artist such as Yancyy. She has performed in many venues in the city as a vocalist such the Max Fisher with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra New Year's Eve in 2015, The Music Hall, The Jazz Café, Charles H. Wright museum, Baker's Keyboard Lounge, Chene Park, Campus Martius, Hart Plaza, The Fox Theatre, The Palace of Auburn Hills where she sang the National Anthem, Comerica Park, Flood's Bar and Grille, Greektown Casino, and other venues in Detroit. 

Artema is lead vocalist for Detroit Soul Rhythm Band and works along side her good friend and brother of over 20 years, Alex Goss. She continues to lead worship and is currently working on her third live worship project. She is also working on a solo jazz/R&B EP, as well as currently writing for other artists as well.
